Can I recover deleted items?

Jason Lum -

It depends on how long ago the item was deleted but it is possible if the item was recently deleted. The first place to check is the "Deleted Items" folder to see if the item you have deleted is in there, If not and depending on how long ago the "Deleted Items" folder was emptied it may still be recoverable from the Exchange server.

If you are using Outlook 2010 perform the following:

  1. From the Menu Bar Click on "Folder"
  2. Then click on "Recover Deleted Items" from the "Clean Up" group of Icons.recover_deleted_items.PNG
  3. Once the Recover Deleted Items Windows opens you will be able to scroll through the list and see if the item you need is in there.
  4. Just select the Item you need and click the "Recover Selected Items" Icon.

If you are using another version of Outlook such as Outlook for Mac you can check for recoverable items using Webmail:

  1. Login into https://webmail.thecloud.net.nz with your account details.
  2. Located the "Deleted Items" folder and  right-click on it.
  3. Select  "Recover Deleted Items" at the bottom of the menu.recover_deleted_items_WEB.PNG
  4. Another Window will open (Ensure you aren't blocking pop-ups with your web browser) and you will be able to scroll through the list and see if the item you need is in there.
  5. Just select the Item you need and click the "Recover Selected Items" Icon.
  6. You will then be asked where to place the recovered items then click "Recover..." to complete complete the recovery.
